STARFlight Required after Fatal Crash on SH 71

Spicewood, TX (6/12/2020) – STARFlight was called out to the scene of a crash after a truck and an 18-wheeler collided Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened in Spicewood around 2:45 p.m. on SH 71 near Bob Wire Road. After the accident, one person was pinned in their vehicle and CPR was performed on another person.

According to Pedernales Fire Department, one man estimated to be in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person estimated to be in his 50s was transported to the hospital via STARFlight with possible life-threatening injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
