Three Adults and One Child Hospitalized after Rollover Wreck

Austin, TX (10/25/2020) – Three adults and one child were taken to the hospital after a rollover collision in southwest Austin. 

The accident occurred on Sunday evening around 5:28 p.m. on Thunderbird Road near Highway 290 East. As a result of the collision, one adult was possibly ejected from the vehicle.

The adult that was ejected was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Two additional adults were taken to the hospital with potentially serious injuries while a child was taken to Dell Children’s with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

According to the NHTSA, rollover crashes are more likely to result in fatalities than any other types of crashes, and that most fatal rollover crashes are single-vehicle crashes. This type of crash is ultimately due to excessive speeding, alcohol, and other negligent acts the driver may be at-fault for. For the case above, the investigation will reveal why exactly the vehicle rolled over and caused four people to go to the hospital.
