Angelina County, TX (6/29/2020) – Three people, including two children, were injured in a wreck in Angelina County Thursday afternoon.
The accident happened on State HIghway 7 when a Ford pickup headed west attempted a left turn into a private drive but drove into the path of a Peterbilt semi-truck.
The driver of the Ford, identified as 33-year-old Benjamin Bauld, was transported to UT Tyler Medical Center by life-flight for treatment.
A 10-year-old and 7-year-old passenger with Bauld were transported to Woodland Heights Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Peterbilt, Jorge Vasquez, 31, was not injured in the crash.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
Investigators are currently looking into what may have caused the accident. Because this accident involved a death, a substantial crash investigation will be conducted. This involves conducting interviews, contacting witnesses, and bringing in Accident Reconstructionists to recreate the collision.
