Smith County, TX (10/14/2020) – A major crash involving three vehicles left three people injured in Smith County.
The accident happened on State Highway 64 East near Chapel Hill at the intersection of SH 64 East and Wolfe Lane. A car was traveling westbound on SH 64 and stopped to make a left turn when an SUV struck the vehicle from behind. That caused the car to travel into the oncoming lanes of traffic where it was struck by a gasoline tanker headed east.
The driver of the tanker, the driver of the car and an infant passenger were taken to a local hospital.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
The actions between the two vehicles and a gasoline tanker resulted in three people with injuries. The people in the car attempting to make a left turn have a right to file a personal injury claim against the driver that rear-ended them.
