El Paso, TX (2/7/2021) – A three-vehicle crash left one man dead early Sunday morning.
The accident happened on Interstate 10 near Hawkins. A Ford Edge driven by Deborah Sanchez was headed westbound when she made a U-turn and struck the center concrete divider. She continued east in the westbound lanes of traffic.
The vehicle crashed into a Nissan Altima that was headed westbound. The Edge then crashed into a third vehicle.
The driver involved in the head-on collision with Sanchez, identified as 33-year-old Eyob Demoze, was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Sanchez and the third driver, Jose Senties, suffered no injuries.
Sanchez was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led to the accident, and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
