Three-Vehicle Wreck Left One Dead in Stratford

Stratford, TX (7/1/2020) – A man is now dead after a three-vehicle wreck occurred Monday night.

The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. Miguel Salazar-Ramos, 39, was driving on US 287 in his Kenworth truck towing a semi-trailer. Salazar-Ramos attempted to pass Jesse Perry, 62, who was driving a Volvo truck tractor towing a semi-trailer. According to Texas DPS, Salazar-Ramos failed to pass to the left safely and struck 59-year-old Thomas Ellston who was riding a motorcycle. Ellston’s motorcycle then spun around, exploded and struck Perry’s semi-trailer.

Ellston was killed at the scene.

Everyone else was not injured.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led to the accident, and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
