Hale County, TX (1/20/2020) – An 11-year-old and a 10-year-old are now dead with one woman injured after an accident involving ice on the roads Thursday.
The accident occurred on I-27 in Hale Center when five people riding in a Tahoe struck ice on a bridge, crossed the inside shoulder, struck a guard rail, and rolled over.
The two children were ejected from the vehicle. Both died at the scene.
A woman, 34-year-old Valerie Soto who was seated in the back, suffered serious injuries from the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The driver and front seat passenger, both 16-year-old females, were not injured.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
