Kaufman, TX (11/21/2020) – Two children were killed and three others were injured in a vehicle-ATV wreck on Saturday.
The accident occurred on FM 2727 around 12:44 p.m. when a Chevy Equinox headed southbound came by and collided side-by-side with an ATV carrying six people. Three children were airlifted to a hospital, while two others were transported by ground.
Two children, a 7-year-old and a 12-year-old, were killed as a result of the wreck.
Four others remain injured.
The driver and passenger of the Equinox were not injured, according to officials.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 135,000 people are injured every year due to ATV, or all-terrain vehicle accidents and over 700 people die.
