Houston, TX (5/27/2020) – Two people are now dead after a wrong-way driver crashed into them Monday night.
The accident happened around 9:00 p.m. when a driver was speeding on Veterans Memorial and the police tried to pull him over. That’s when the driver refused to stop and swerve into oncoming traffic. The driver struck a bicyclist then struck into a Buick head-on.
The driver of the Buick was taken to the hospital via LifeFlight and the bicyclist was also taken to the hospital. Both died at the hospital. They were identified as 63-year-old Jarvis Taylor and 57-year-old Roosevelt McClendon.
The wrong-way driver, identified as 31-year-old Alexis Saborit, was taken to the hospital in stable condition. He faces two counts of Felony Murder.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
