Hopkins County, TX (6/12/2021) – Two people were killed and two others were injured in a three-vehicle wreck south of Sulphur Springs Saturday evening.
The wreck happened around 5:52 p.m. on State Highway 154 when a Dodge Challenger driving behind a Lincoln SUV failed to control their speed and struck the Lincoln. The Lincoln left the road and hit several trees before striking a Dodge Ram.
The driver of the Lincoln, 73-year-old Brenda Mowat Coker, and her passenger, 79-year-old Tracy Coker, were killed at the scene.
The driver of the Challenger, 34-year-old Brandon Brown, and the driver of the Ram, 73-year-old Jimmy Young Sr., were taken to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
