Two Drivers Killed after Deadly Hit-and-Run Wreck

Plano, TX (5/22/2020) – Two men are now dead after an SUV crashed into a dump truck in oncoming traffic Wednesday afternoon.

The fatal accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. in the southbound lanes of U.S. 75 and State Highway 190. An SUV driven by 32-year-old Zachary Harbin was speeding westbound when he drove across the median. The SUV went airborne, crossed the northbound lanes of U.S. 75 and struck a dump truck.

The driver of the dump truck identified as 53-year-old Alvaro Torres, died from his injuries.

Harbin was also killed at the scene. The passenger in his vehicle, a 35-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to detectives, Harbin has been involved in a hit-and-run crash before this one.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
