Two Drivers Killed in Head-On Collision in Kaufman

Kaufman, TX (1/18/2021) – Two people were killed in a head-on collision Monday night in eastern Kaufman County.

The accident happened on State Highway 243 around 8:40 p.m. near County Road 109. A GMC SUV driven by 32-year-old Courtney D. Garcia was headed eastbound when she lost control and swerved into the westbound lane. She struck a Honda headed westbound head-on. 

The driver of the Honda, a Kaufman High School senior, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Garcia was also killed at the scene.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
