Harker Heights, TX (9/24/2020) – Two men are now dead after a plane crash occurred late Thursday morning.
The accident happened just after 11 a.m. along Interstate 14 at the boundary between Killeen and Harker Heights. The aircraft, a Quicksilver MX II Sprint, landed in the highway median at the eastbound exit to Rosewood Drive.
The victims were identified as David Wesley, 71, and Stephen Cockrell, 54. They were taken to Seton Harker Heights Medical Center, where they both later died. Both men were licensed pilots.
If the investigation reveals that something faulty from the plane was occurring at the time of the crash, the manufacturer of the aircraft can be held responsible if you can demonstrate the product was defective. This is known as strict liability and will require a detailed legal analysis to ensure all claims are accounted for appropriately.
