Gilmer, TX (5/13/2020) – An accident Monday left two people dead after getting hit by a tractor-trailer in Gilmer.
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Texas 154 at FM 1650 when an SUV driven by 67-year-old James Allen Sinclair pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer driven by 55-year-old Ricky Carrol Nash. Sinclair’s SUV was struck on the driver side.
Sinclair was killed at the scene. His passenger, Barbara Jenkins Sinclair, 90, was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Nash was treated and released, while his passenger, Nerlyn Nash, 36, was not injured.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
