Edinburg, TX (9/18/2020) – A car crash in Edinburg left two people dead Friday evening.
The accident happened around 5:51 p.m. when a silver Hyundai collided with a Dodge pickup truck on FM 2812 near Buena Vista Drive.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 15-year-old teenager, and his passenger, 39-year-old Alina Gamez de Bautista, suffered critical injuries. The two children in the backseat, ages 13 and 6, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passengers in the Dodge were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
