Two People Killed in Fatal Head-On Collision in Amarillo

Amarillo, TX (3/13/2021) – Two people were killed in a fatal car accident Saturday morning.

The accident happened around 1:56 a.m. on Interstate 27 when a Nissan Armada, driven by Anthony Michael Lara, 27, headed southbound in the northbound lane, struck another vehicle head-on.

Lara and the driver of the second vehicle, 37-year-old Eliel Alfonso Morales, died at the scene.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
