San Antonio, TX (4/20/2020) – Two people were killed after a wreck involving three 18-wheelers in Bexar County.
The accident happened around 1 a.m. at I-10 and Fair Oaks Parkway. According to deputies, a sedan was headed the wrong way on I-10 when he hit an 18-wheeler. Both drivers were ejected. The Sedan burst into flames.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Another 18-wheeler was also headed eastbound when they attempted to avoid the crash. It lost control, veered off onto the medium, drove through the cable onto the westbound lanes before crashing into a ditch just off of the frontage road.
This driver was uninjured.
Another 18-wheeler traveling eastbound slammed into one of the 18-wheelers involved, crashing just a few hundred yards away.
That driver was also uninjured.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
