Roans Prairie, TX (10/29/2020) – A two-vehicle wreck left one person dead and three passengers injured on Thursday, Oct. 29.
The accident occurred around 11:50 a.m. on State Highway 30. A Suzuki Verona was headed eastbound on SH 30 behind a GMC C6500. As the Suzuki was passing the GMC, the GMC attempted to make a left turn. The Suzuki then overcorrected and struck a tree.
Rear passenger Melissa Joyce McCarty, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver Scotty Lee Logue, 58, a front passenger, and a two-year-old were left injured. They were taken to the hospital where they remain in stable condition.
The driver of the GMC was not injured.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
