Victoria, TX (9/11/2020) – Two women were killed in the Crossroads after getting into a wreck on Canal Bridge.
The incident happened when a Kia Soul driven by 40-year-old Debra Myer swerved into 47-year-old Gersue Balentine’s lane and hit her Chrysler.
On September 11th 47-year-old Gerisue Balentine and 40-year-old Debra Myer were killed in a fatal accident while traveling on the Canal Bridge.
Myer was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Balentine was treated at the scene and then air-flighted to San Antonio Medical Center. She was later pronounced dead.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
Because of the negligent driving apparent in the case above, the surviving family of Balentine has a right to file a wrongful death claim against Myer. In Texas, a wrongful death claim allows victims to recover many different types of damages, including the death of their deceased family member’s income and financial support, the loss of the deceased family member’s companionship, the loss of an expected inheritance, and mental anguish and suffering.
