Lubbock, TX (2/17/2020) – A woman is now seriously injured after getting involved in an accident on I-27 in Lubbock, Texas.
The accident occurred when 21-year-old Valerie Carranco went off the roadway and struck a guardrail around 3 a.m. Sunday morning. A passing vehicle then stopped to help her. That’s when a Ford F350 headed north on I-27 struck Carranco and her vehicle. The impact forced Carranco’s vehicle to strike the stopped vehicle.
Carranco was transported to University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
