Salado, TX (10/27/2020) – A woman is dead and another driver is injured after a head-on collision occurred Tuesday morning.
The accident happened around 9:51 a.m. in front of Salado High School. A Lexus NX2 SUV driven by 55-year-old Andrea Matthews was headed eastbound on FM 2484 while a Ford F-550 utility truck driven by a 36-year-old man was headed westbound. For reasons unknown, the Lexus drifted into the path of the Ford utility truck. They both collided head-on.
Matthews was pronounced dead on the scene.
The man and his passenger suffered non-incapacitating injuries.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led to the accident, and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
