Woman Fell into Canal off Rio Grande, Suffered Injury

El Paso, TX (12/12/2019) – A woman is now in treatment for an ankle injury after she fell into a canal situated off the Rio Grande in west El Paso.

A search effort was launched around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night for what was first a water rescue along West Paisano Drive. Crews later found the woman in a dry canal, suffering from an injury to her ankle.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital where she remains for treatment.

Investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

The results of the investigation will determine how exactly the woman fell and if it wasn’t solely her fault, liability will be put on an external source. When that happens, it’s important to contact an attorney so as to be fairly represented and accounted for during an accident that wasn’t your fault. An attorney can deal with insurance adjusters for you, negotiate settlements, and represent your best interests if a lawsuit is needed. If you or a loved one were involved in an accident, immediately contact a legal expert to help you evaluate your options.
