A woman is in serious condition after a major crash in The Heights area, west of downtown Houston.
According to police, the wreck happened Wednesday night around 11:30 p.m. when she was exiting from I-10 to Washington Avenue.
The woman lost control of her vehicle and struck a curb before sliding off the road and flipping into a tree. She was trapped in her vehicle and had to be rescued by firefighters. The woman was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have caused the accident.
Houston is expected to have heavy rains until Thursday. Wet weather can cause an increase in car accidents.
