Woman Injured in Single-Vehicle Wreck

Lufkin, TX (9/27/2020) – A woman was left injured and needed to be airlifted after a single-vehicle wreck occurred Sunday night. 

The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Chestnut St. and Whitehouse Drive. The male driver fell asleep and veered off the road. The car struck a traffic cabinet and a traffic light pole. 

The woman passenger suffered a head injury and was airlifted from the scene.

The driver was not seriously injured. 

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
