Woman Killed after Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in Alice

Jim Wells County, TX (6/3/2021) – A two-vehicle crash fatally killed a woman Thursday evening.

The accident happened around 6:40 p.m. north of Alice. A Ford F-150 was headed northeast on SH 359 while a Jeep Commander driven by 39-year-old Melissa Josefa Diaz was headed southwest. The Ford failed to stay in their lane and veered into Diaz’s lane, striking her Jeep head-on.

Diaz was killed at the scene.

The driver of the Ford was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital in Alice with serious injuries.
