Evant, TX (10/1/2021) – A woman was killed after a head-on collision with a drunk driver Friday evening.
The accident happened on US 281 around 10:22 p.m. when a Ford Edge was travelling north while a Dodge Ram pickup truck was headed south. The Ford crossed over the double yellow center stripe and into the path of the Dodge pickup truck, where the two ultimately collided.
The front passenger in the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified as Carol Ann Neatherlin, 62.
The driver of the Dodge, a 71-year-old man, was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford, a 48-year-old man, was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
