Austin, TX (10/11/2020) – A woman motorcyclist is now dead after being struck by a pickup truck Sunday night in Austin.
The accident happened around 11:15 p.m. along the 6800 block of South I-35. A black Dodge Ram headed southbound struck an impact attenuator on the Slaughter Lane off-ramp. This caused the truck to veer into the center lane and collide with a gray Harley Davidson.
The motorcyclist, 33-year-old Jessica Sears, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, 39-year-old Amber Thompson was arrested before being charged with intoxication manslaughter, according to police.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
