Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Wreck on Slaton Highway

Lubbock, TX (10/1/2020) – A woman has died after being involved in a two-vehicle wreck on Slaton Highway.

The accident happened between 1585 and CR 7500 on Thursday afternoon. A white truck towing another truck on a trailer was headed eastbound when it approached a construction zone. Crew vehicles were parked on the side of the road, and the pickup attempted to swerve to avoid striking one of their trucks. It then collided with a suburban headed northwest. 

The driver of the Suburban, an 89-year-old woman, was killed. 

The truck driver was not injured.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
