Woman Killed in Wreck with 18-Wheeler in Austin

Austin, TX (4/21/2021) – A woman was killed after being involved in a wreck with an 18-wheeler in central Austin.

The accident happened around 2:45 a.m. on Interstate 35 when a pickup truck collided with an 18-wheeler on the shoulder of I-35 near 51st Street. 

A passenger was killed at the scene. She was identified as 25-year-old Haley Frances Womak. 

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
