Worker Hospitalized after 18-Wheeler Falls into Construction Site in Houston

Houston, Texas (June 28, 2022) – A truck driver is in the hospital today after crashing into a construction site on the west side of Houston.

According to local police, the driver, who reportedly was driving a waste management truck, was traveling southbound on Eldridge. Police say the driver called them about a vehicle in front of them. The driver had to make a decision whether to hit the car or crash through the construction site. Ultimately, the driver chose the construction, where they drove their truck into a 20 to 30 foot hole.

Officials say the construction zone is part of the waste management flood control zone, but the truck is not part of the construction crew.

The driver was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries according to local police.
