Houston, TX (2/18/2021) – A wrong-way crash killed two people overnight at the North Beltway and Veterans Memorial in Houston.
Police stated around 12:15 a.m., a black car was traveling in the wrong direction, going westbound in the eastbound lanes causing a head-on collision with another car.
One driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The second driver was pronounced dead at the hospital.
This collision caused the area to be shut down for more than two hours.
At this time, it is unknown what caused the driver to enter the North Beltway the wrong way.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
