Rusk County, TX (8/3/2020) – A 9-year-old girl is now dead after being involved in a rollover accident in Rusk County.
The accident happened on U.S. Highway 84 Friday afternoon around 3:42 p.m. According to reports, Lisa Christine Brian, 31, was driving a Chevrolet Blazer west on 84 when she began to pass a vehicle. As she was passing, the right rear tire blew out, which led to the Blazer traveling off the highway. Brian over-corrected then entered a skid, and rolled down a steep embankment.
The girl, 9, involved in the wreck was killed at the scene.
Brian and three passengers, ages 15, 13, and 7, were taken to a hospital where they remain in serious condition.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
