How to Get a Police Accident Report in Allen?

Individuals involved in an accident that was reported to by an Allen Police Officer should obtain a copy of their official accident report, filed by the responding officer. To obtain a report, you can get a copy of your accident report either in-person or by submitting a written request to the Allen Police Department via mail. No fax, email, or phone requests are accepted.

The cost of a police report in Texas typically ranges from $6 to $20, depending on the how you obtain it. For Allen, it will cost $6. You will likely need to provide information such as:

  • the report number,
  • your name,
  • driver’s license number,
  • vehicle plate number,
  • the date/time of accident,
  • location of accident,
  • who was involved in the accident,
  • your mailing address,
  • phone number,
  • and email.

In Person

One way to get your police accident report is by getting it in person. Head to the Allen Police Headquarters, which is located at 205 W McDermott Drive Allen, TX 75013. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Visitors may pay the $6 report fee with cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard or American Express. Credit cards not accepted after 4:30 p.m.

You will need to also submit a written request to the Allen Police Department and show a proof of identification. This request should include:

  • Your contact information (with phone number)
  • A case number
  • Name of an involved party
  • Date or location of the offense, etc.

In addition, if you choose to pick up a copy of the crash report in-person you must have been directly involved with the accident. If you are not a part of the party involved in the accident then you will receive a redacted version of the accident report.

Mail

The second way to get your Allen police report is through mail. The sender must include a self-addressed stamped envelope and a $6 report fee paid by check or money order. Requests are mailed to:
