Montgomery County, TX ( August 27, 2019) – A distracted driver caused a five-vehicle crash on Highway 99 in Montgomery County.
The car accident occurred Monday around 6:00 p.m. near Highway 99 and Rayford Road.
According to authorities the driver of a pickup truck failed to control his speed and collided into the back of a vehicle in stopped traffic.
As a result, the impact from the collision caused one car to flip over and two vehicles to catch on fire.
There was a total of seven people involved in the collision. Individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment. There have been no details on the severity of injuries for each person.
Crash investigators will review all factors pertaining to the accident and police reports will be made available in ten days.
