Big-rig Crash leads to Hazmat Spill

HOUSTON (October 25, 2018)– Early Thursday morning I-10 westbound lanes were closed due to an 18-wheeler accident.

Around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday a tractor-trailer skidded sideways on the slippery East Freeway and slammed into a concrete wall, knocking off a piece. The Metro Video footage shows the trailer stopped across all lanes, blocking the freeway.

The 18-wheeler was carrying fuel that spilled on the highway that resulted from the crash. Hazmat teams were on the scene to clean up the area.

The driver wasn’t injured and there are no reports of other vehicles involved in the collision. The highway reopened at 5:00 a.m.
