Fatal Collision Left One Dead, Three Injured in Hardin County

Hardin County, TX (10/29/2019) – Charles Edward Groze Jr., 44, is now dead with his three passengers left injured after a fatal car crash on FM 420 late Saturday evening.

 The crash happened just before 11:00 p.m. near Kountze, when a 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck heading westbound on Farm to Market Road 420 rolled over, according to Sergeant Stephanie Davis of Texas Department of Public Safety.

Charles Edward Groze Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Passengers Quinton Ruso, 21, and Caleb Jay Smith, 19, sustained injuries and were taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. The third passenger, Dylan Leviness, 18, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. 

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
