HOUSTON (October 18, 2018)– A man was found dead after he was hit by a train on the 2300 block of Congress on Wednesday, October 17th.
The Houston Police Department (HPD) were called to the scene in East Houston, near Congress Avenue and Emancipation Avenue around 10:50 p.m. A conductor with Union Pacific Railroad saw a man lying on the tracks.
Authorities believe the first passing train did not realize it had struck a pedestrian, leaving the man on the tracks. The second train saw the man lying on the tracks and called HPD. He was dead on the scene. The man has not been identified. There is an investigation to determine the cause of the train accident.
