Mother-Dead-Grandmother-and-Baby-Injured-in-Head-on-Collision-in-South-HoustonEarly Monday morning, a mother died in a head-on collision in South Houston.

The car accident happened around 3:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of College Avenue. The 23-year old woman was driving an SUV with her mother and her 1-year old baby at the time. The driver of a silver Ford truck was traveling westbound on College Avenue, when he crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided into the black SUV.

The woman died at the scene. The grandmother and child sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The 19-year old driver of the pickup truck was arrested at the scene. He admitted to authorities he was drunk during the car wreck.  The driver will be charged with intoxication manslaughter.
