Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Car in El Paso

El Paso, TX (11/21/2019) – A pedestrian is now dead after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday night in west El Paso.

The incident occurred at the intersection of E. Redd Road and N. Ressler Drive.

The driver of the vehicle suffered front-end damage to his vehicle.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.

According to the FHWA, there are many reasons pedestrians are at risk for safety at intersections. These include lack of traffic control at high-risk intersections, low levels of enforcement for pedestrian and driver traffic control violations, wide crossings, and lack of visibility in dark times of the 24-hour day period.

The results of the investigation will reveal what exactly resulted in a pedestrian’s death. Whether it be because of one of the reasons above or if the pedestrian may have been at-fault, contacting legal assistance may be of best interest.
