School Bus CrashBASTON (October 25, 2018)– Wednesday morning an 18-wheeler collided into a school bus full of students.

The crash happened around 8:00 a.m. at Tucker Lane and Texas 71 in Bastrop, Texas. Bastrop Independent School District Bus 220 was carrying 19 students from Cedar Creek High School, Cedar Creek Middle School, Cedar Creek Intermediate School and Colorado River Collegiate Academy when it collided with 18-wheeler.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, early reports shows the school bus stopped at the intersection of Tucker Hill Lane and Highway 71. When the light turned green the bus proceeded to make a right turn onto Highway 71.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was traveling westbound on Highway 71, when he was making an effort to stop at the yellow light but his brakes failed.

The truck driver wasn’t hurt in the accident. The bus driver and ten of those students were transported to local area hospitals. Reports indicate there were no serious injuries

The accident remains under investigation.
