Suspected-Drunk-Driver-in-Train-CrashHouston Heights (January 30, 2019) – Early Wednesday morning a suspected drunk driver’s car was hit by a train.

The car accident occurred around midnight in The Heights. According to the Metro video reported the woman came from Washington Avenue and drove onto Heights Boulevard going northbound in the southbound lanes. The crossing arms came down causing the car to become trapped on the train tracks. She was trying to reverse her car when the train rear-ended the back of her car. The impact pushed the vehicle forward and spun it around landing in the bushes. She was able to escape from her car to a nearby parking garage at an apartment complex.

The police came to her aid and took her to a local hospital. She suffered minor injuries. No other people or vehicles were involved in the crash. Police are investigating her for DWI.
