Young Boy Dead after Hit-and-Run Accident in Robertson County

Robertson County, TX (12/30/2019) – A 6-year-old boy is dead after getting injured in a hit-and-run accident Christmas morning in Robertson County, Texas.

The accident happened just after 10 a.m. on Dec. 25 when Katlyne Martinez, 18, collided into the child on FM 46 after the child pulled out onto the street while riding his 4-wheeler. Martinez fled the scene and stopped 5 miles away after her truck broke down.

The child died Friday, Dec. 27, after two days in CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital for emergency treatment of injuries. He was airlifted to the hospital.

Martinez was charged with failure to stop and render aid resulting in serious bodily injury. According to DPS, her charges may be enhanced to failure to stop and render aid resulting in death.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
