Man Injured after Train Collision in Socorro

Socorro, TX (3/23/2021) – A man was injured after a train crashed with a pickup truck Tuesday evening in Socorro.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. on Bauman Road near Middle Drain Road. A man was in the pickup when the train crashed into the truck.

He was sent to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Investigators are not sure why the truck was on the tracks while the train was crossing. 

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
