Houston, TX (10/24/2020) – A man was killed and a woman was hurt after a car split in half following a crash on the Gulf Freeway Saturday morning.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway near Scarsdale around 3:20 a.m. According to police, the driver was speeding and lost control of the red Pontiac Grand Prix, which caused them to hit a tree. The car split in half and then burst into flames.
Both occupants, a man and a woman, were ejected from the vehicle. The man was killed while the woman was critically hurt.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
