Falfurrias, TX (3/1/2021) – A woman died on Monday in a fatal two-vehicle wreck with a truck towing a utility trailer.
The accident happened on SH-285 in Brooks County when a vehicle hit an overturned F-350 towing a utility trailer. A Chevy Trax was headed north on County Road 401 when the driver ignored a stop sign and hit the trailer of the F-350. The impact caused the utility trailer to overturn, which resulted in a Chevy Traverse hitting the trailer.
The Traverse then rolled.
A passenger in the Traverse, Aida Marie Torres, 51, was killed at the scene.
The driver and passenger in the Chevy Trax were taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi with serious injuries and are listed in stable condition, DPS officials said.
The Driver of the Ford F-350 was treated and released on scene.
The driver and three other passengers from the Chevy Traverse were also taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital with serious injuries and are in stable condition.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
