Passenger Killed in Wreck in Canton

Canton, TX (3/27/2021) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck in Canton on Tuesday.

The wreck happened on the Interstate 20 north service road at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 17. A Nissan Altima was stopped at a stop sign and failed to yield the right of way to a Dodge Ram 3500 headed north on FM 17. The Dodge and the Altima collided.

A passenger in the Altima was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. He was identified as 27-year-old Chih Hao Tseng.

The driver of the Dodge, Gerald Wayne Bass, 57, was treated and released at the scene.

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
