Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Wreck on U.S. 59

Beeville, TX (1/8/2021) – A pedestrian was killed after being involved in a two-vehicle wreck.

The accident happened on U.S. 59 around 9:45 a.m. A vehicle headed east on US 59 tried to pass a semi-truck in a passing zone when they struck a pedestrian that was in the roadway. 

The pedestrian, identified as 23-year-old John David Ybanez Jr., was killed at the scene. 

The driver of the vehicle and the driver of the semi-truck stopped to render aid. 

Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
