Beeville, TX (1/8/2021) – A pedestrian was killed after being involved in a two-vehicle wreck.
The accident happened on U.S. 59 around 9:45 a.m. A vehicle headed east on US 59 tried to pass a semi-truck in a passing zone when they struck a pedestrian that was in the roadway.
The pedestrian, identified as 23-year-old John David Ybanez Jr., was killed at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle and the driver of the semi-truck stopped to render aid.
Crash investigators will review all factors that may have led up to the accident and police reports will be made available in fourteen days.
Unfortunately, pedestrians are at a disadvantage when it comes to personal safety on the streets of Houston. Motorists frequently fail to see pedestrians on or alongside busy roads, and it only takes a second for a serious accident to occur.
