Sutliff & Stout’s Scholarships Now Accepting Applications

Sutliff & Stout, Personal Injury and Accident Law Firm is pleased to announce that they are offering their annual scholarships for the year of 2022.

These scholarships include the First Step Scholarship, the Law School Scholarship, and the Diversity in Law Scholarship.

Candidates ranging from high school to college to law school students will have the ability to be awarded $1,500 for the academic year of 2022.

Below is a list of the scholarships Sutliff & Stout offers to the community.

First Step Scholarship

At Sutliff and Stout, we are aware of all kinds of motor vehicle accidents. Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death for 15 – 24 year olds. According to the U.S. Government, 3,154 people were killed and approximately 424,000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers in 2013.

Distracted driving is a pandemic we are actively trying to combat. And for us, it starts with our First Step Scholarship.

This scholarship was created to address the public safety problem that is distracted driving and to bring change. The first step to inciting those changes is to admit that a problem exists. And sometimes, the problem starts with us.

The First Step Scholarship is a scholarship offered to students. We are asking students, either outgoing high school seniors or enrolled collegiate students as of Fall 2022, to write an essay of at least 500 words detailing their most common distracted driving habits, and to describe the concrete steps they will take to put a stop to those harmful habits.

The rules are as follows:

  • Applicants must be EITHER out-going high school seniors (graduating summer 2021) OR students currently enrolled in a college, trade school, or university as of the start of the fall 2021 semester.

Law School Scholarship

At Sutliff and Stout, we value the importance of pursuing a career in law. Our firm understands that high-quality legal representation should be granted to all, no matter what socioeconomic background.

In an effort to uphold these values, we are offering our Law School Scholarship for aspiring lawyers currently in law school. Our annual scholarship contest will award each law student with a $1,500 award to be put to his or her school costs.

The Law School Scholarship will be granted to the candidate who writes the most compelling essay to the question: Why do you want to study law?

The rules are:

  • Applicants must be enrolled or accepted into an ABA-accredited law school in the United States as of the fall 2022 semester.

Diversity in Law Scholarship

Our third scholarship Sutliff & Stout, Injury & Accident Law Firm is our Diversity in Law Scholarship.

This scholarship is directed for minorities pursuing a legal career. According to ABA’s National Lawyer Population Survey, only 12 percent of active attorneys identify as Hispanic or Latino, African American, or Asian. This is why we are proud to sponsor a scholarship catered directly to those that make up the diverse population within the legal profession.

For this scholarship, we are offering $1,500 award to be put toward costs for a legal education. This scholarship will be awarded to the person who writes the best essay towards the question: How will your law degree help your community?
